Shynne Online Dating Social is a virtual speed dating event designed for singles aged 18-30 who want to meet new people in a relaxed, low-stakes setting. Forget the noise of a bar or the awkwardness of standing around at a mixer — this is dating stripped back to what actually matters: good conversation, genuine curiosity, and the chance to connect with someone new, all from the comfort of your own space.

Hosted entirely over Zoom, the event runs for one hour and brings together a small, balanced group of men and women for a series of short, one-on-one video chats. Each conversation is a fresh start — no history, no assumptions, just you and someone new getting to know each other for a few minutes before rotating on to the next person.

Why we built it this way

Dating can feel like a lot of pressure. A loud venue, forced small talk, the anxiety of walking up to a stranger — none of that is easy, and for a lot of people, it's enough to put them off trying altogether. Shynne exists to take that pressure away.

We've kept the format simple and the atmosphere warm. Cameras are optional, so no one has to feel "camera-ready" to take part. There's a friendly host guiding things along throughout, so you're never left wondering what happens next. And because matching happens after the event rather than live on camera, there's no awkward moment of rejection — you'll only ever hear about mutual interest.

How the evening unfolds

You'll join the main Zoom room a few minutes before 7pm, where your host will welcome everyone and walk through exactly how the next hour will work. From there, you'll be rotated through several short one-on-one video chats, each lasting a few minutes, giving you the chance to meet a handful of new people over the course of the hour. Between each chat there's a brief pause, so you're never rushed straight from one conversation into the next.

Once the chats wrap up, there's a short, casual open session where everyone can unwind together before the event closes. Afterward, you'll receive a simple form asking who you'd like to hear from again. If someone you spoke to feels the same way, we'll introduce you — and if not, that's the end of it, with nothing awkward to navigate.
